Komatiland Forestry (KLF) welcomes you to our exciting world of eco-tourism. Whether hiking, roughing it up in a 4x4, or mountain biking, we can provide the outdoor venue to make your time in nature, one of unparalleled enjoyment!
Komatiland Forestry was registered as a full subsidiary of SAFCOL in mid 2002 and that was when all the SAFCOL hiking trails in the 'old Transvaal' were transferred to Komatiland’s Eco-Tourism division.
Commercial forestry is KLF’s core business – currently we control an area of more than 210 000 ha of
which 129 000 ha has been afforested – but KLF is also committed to the concept of eco-tourism.
Komatiland Eco-Tourism develops and manages a wide range of 'eco'-related projects, products and facilities, and is involved in joint ventures that add value to our population at large as well as regional economies.
All seven of our hiking trails, Lakenvlei Forest Lodge and the open-air recreational facilities are owner-operated.
KLF’s Eco-Tourism division has a huge impact on the development and management of:
- Overnight Hiking Trails
- Day Hiking Trails
